Ian Strachan brings an adaptation of his hilarious hit play, Honourable Member, to the big screen. The film is an unforgettable portrait of a Caribbean Prime Minister, Winston “Fergie” Ferguson, played by the incomparable Dion Johnson. Fergie is a master communicator and a wily veteran when it comes to besting his rivals. Honourable Member boasts a stellar cast, featuring many of the finest actors in The Bahamas. Set in the imaginary nation, I-Land, the series centers around Fergie’s bid to gain a third consecutive term in office despite calls for him to step down within his own party. Fergie gives the audience his “Ten Rules of Politics” as he handles cabinet meetings, arguments with his second in command, trips to Parliament and the expectations placed on him to bring hope and prosperity to a fragile small island nation.
